About the Artist

While taking some art courses in college, Scott Hale is largely self-taught. Between 1997 and 2002 he took drawing and painting courses on and off at the Seattle Academy of Fine Art, along with various art workshops around the Seattle area.

In the summer of 2003 he left his career as a project manager with a commercial construction firm, to pursue painting full time. This change was also accompanied by a relocation to Montana. Blessed with more frequent sunshine, he is closer to the places and things that inspire him most - surrounding mountains, rivers and streams, fly-fishing. He makes his home in Bozeman with his wife Lara and their three children.
